As a celebrant, I work closely with you to design a ceremony that reflects your story, your values and what matters most to you. Unlike a registrar or religious minister, I am not restricted by scripts or locations, which means your ceremony can be completely unique and held anywhere.
Generally, a registrar conducts legally binding ceremonies and follows a set structure and wording. A celebrant focuses on the meaning and personal significance of the ceremony. Once you book me, we begin with an informal chat so I can get to know you and understand what you are looking for. From there I guide you through every step, including ideas, readings, music and any symbolic elements. I write your ceremony, check everything with you, and then deliver it, to you and for you, on your ceremony day with care and professionalism.

A celebrant wedding ceremony itself is not legally binding in England and Wales. Many couples choose to complete the legal paperwork separately at a register office (see my guide) and then enjoy a celebrant ceremony that truly reflects who they are, without restrictions on wording, location or structure.

A naming ceremony is a joyful celebration welcoming a child/toddler into your family and community. During the ceremony we share the story behind the name, make promises as parents and guide parents, and celebrate the child as an individual. It is a non religious alternative to a christening and can be tailored to suit your family. Your child/toddler can wear a special outfit and you can have cake and balloons! The ceremony can include poems, prayers or traditional elements to enhance the occasion. You will also receive a naming day certificate!
Yes, I do. An adult naming ceremony is a powerful way to celebrate identity, a change in you or a new chapter in life. The ceremony focuses on your journey, your chosen name and what it represents. It can be deeply meaningful and affirming. You could have a party or intimate gathering with family, the choice is yours. You might include a special gift, have a cake or make a toast with champaign, it's your choice and what feels right for you!

I listen carefully, help shape memories into words, and deliver the ceremony with compassion and respect. The focus is on honouring and celebrating a loved one and supporting those who are grieving. These occasions do not have to be sad, the music does not have to be serious and you are allowed to feel joy, peace and love in celebrating your loved ones life and giving them a really good send off!
Yes! Celebrant ceremonies can take place almost anywhere, from gardens and beaches to village halls and family homes. If a location is meaningful to you, we can usually make it work. This flexibility is one of the reasons people choose a celebrant. The happiness of feeling comfortable in a safe and special space cannot be underestimated.
As personal as you want it to be. Every ceremony I create is written from scratch and shaped around you both. Whether you want something traditional, modern, light hearted or deeply reflective, I will work with you to make sure it feels right. You will both have the chance to see the final copy of the ceremony to ensure you are familiar with the wording.
It is always best to book as early as possible, especially for weddings and summer dates. That said, if your ceremony is coming up soon, please do get in touch, I may still be able to help you. I am always happy to have a chat and explore your options. My top tip would be to choose a date first. Couples are changing and not everyone wants a weekend wedding date. Some couples might prefer a day in the week, the choice is yours!
A commitment ceremony is very similar to a wedding ceremony in style. However, it is most important that the two ceremonies are kept as separate occasions within UK laws. (You might not be able to legally marry perhaps because a divorce hasn't come through in time). However, there is nothing to stop you making a serious and meaningful commitment to your partner. Instead of vows, you will make a commitment or set of promises to each other. Some couples do this by writing a letter to each other explaining what commitment means for that individual. You can have a very intimate ceremony or a large gathering. You may also like to include "commitment" rings. Perhaps you will get dressed in special outfits or even go with a theme. Commitment ceremonies are special because you are informing everyone around you, that you have made your choice for the future! You have found your true love and you want to acknowledge that choice so people see you as a couple and support you as a couple.
