A Fabulous Business In Lincoln
One of the lovely things about running my celebrant business is the wonderful people I meet along the way and recently I had the pleasure of meeting the fabulous Jane from Arabella Hats in Lincoln.
Arabella Hats
Jane and I first met a few weeks ago at a local business networking event and we instantly got on so well. She is warm, funny, creative and full of personality. We quickly realised that our businesses complement each other beautifully because so many of the special occasions I conduct ceremonies for are exactly the sort of events where people want to feel amazing and look their very best.
Today I was invited to visit Jane’s beautiful cabin showroom and what an experience it was. I spent the afternoon trying on some of her absolutely stunning hats and fascinators while hearing all about her journey into the world of hat making.
Loving what you do
Jane describes herself as a “hataholic” and honestly, I can completely see why. Her passion for hats shines through in everything she does. She started more than ten years ago by repairing her own hats, she has a fashion degree and began making hats and fascinators for friends. After Covid, an opportunity came along when another business friend stopped selling hats and Jane bought the stock. From there Arabella Hats really began to grow.
After moving to Lincoln, Jane had a purpose-built cabin showroom created in her garden so she could have a dedicated space to work on her beautiful designs and meet customers in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It is such a lovely space and completely reflects her personality and talent.

What I especially loved was hearing how thoughtful Jane is about her work. She re-uses hats where possible, collects feathers, recycles trimmings and can even incorporate spare lace and sentimental materials into a bespoke design. Her creativity and attention to detail are incredible and she genuinely loves bringing people’s ideas to life.

Jane creates hats for weddings, mother of the bride outfits, racecourse events, award ceremonies, naming ceremonies, vow renewals and so many other special occasions. I tried on several wedding hats during my visit and they were absolutely stunning! Jane also showed me how she begins building a hat from scratch which was fascinating to watch. The amount of skill, patience and craftsmanship involved is remarkable!

I came away from my visit feeling inspired and very grateful to have made such a wonderful new business friend. Jane is talented, dedicated and offers truly unique work in. I honestly do not know why her phone is not ringing constantly, off the hook, because her work deserves so much recognition!
